The following product was developed from concept to production.  Mechanical designs included housing, motor mounting and PCB mounting.  Basic concept of this device was to take 24VDC field pulses and convert that into a mechanical motion and still maintain Class I, Div I.  Optical shaft feedback provided accurate rotation readings.  The main objective was to deliver accurate rotations to the Veeder-Root ticket counter located in a Class I, Div I environment.  This concept was conceived from customer necessity in South America and was designed to run from 0-3000 LPM/GPM depending on the desired meter.

Board level Design has been our expertise for the past 15 years.  We have designed PCB’s with complexities from low density single layer boards to high density 4 layer boards.  The image to the right contains several examples of digital and analog (including RF designs) layouts.  These designs have been designed from Schematic capture to PCB development.

General overview:

The basic functional description for this device is to alternate 2 solenoid valves with high speed and accuracy.  This allows the Compact Prover to provide volumetric testing of petrochemical solutions derived from a "sponge-able" source such as Colonial Pipeline.  Since petroleum tank farms transfer petro a custody transfer meter must be used for weights and measurements.   As a result testing of the custody transfer meter must be performed periodically as required in the API guidelines.  This water draw controller controls valves with very high accuracy to meet and exceed the API guidlines.  Those solenoid valves are used to deliver a specific volume from the Compact Prover to volumetric scales.  This controller was designed to work with another Honeywell device which controls single and 3 phase motors along with highly accurate pulsed signals.
